A Season of Giving

December 24, 2014

I do agree with the phrase "Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year". All the joy and spirit around this time of year automatically puts a smile on my face. Even the stress of getting all my presents in the mail on time, puts me in that Christmas mood. I love watching the repeated Santa Clause movies on ABC Family and different renditions of Christmas plays. The lights on all the neighbors' houses excites me for the season to come.  As I am listening to the Michael BublĂ© station on Pandora, I am thinking of what the true meaning of Christmas is.While we anxiously wait for Santa to bring presents down from the chimney, we sometimes forget what Christmas is all about.
Yes, I do enjoy receiving presents. I mean honestly it would be a lie if you said you did not. There is something about giving a gift to one that gives you even more joy. The look on your friend's face when you give her or him a gift gives you thah feeling of satisfaction. The shopping process of getting each person on my list sometimes overwhelms me. In the end, it is all worth it when you see that smile on their faces.
I discovered this video a while back, and it truly made me so happy. Sometimes the best gifts are the ones you give. You can find true joy through helping others. I challenge you to make this season about others and not yourself. Life is good but is always better when you make someone else's life a little more happy. Even the small things like giving someone a compliment will make someone smile. Have a giving spirit this holiday!

Luke 2:11 states," For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord". Yes, this season is about a gift, the gift of Jesus.

Merry Christmas,
