New Year's Resolutions 2015

December 29, 2014

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and spent time with your family and friends! I cannot believe 2015 is approaching! This sounds really cliché but 2014 has sure flown by. With a new year, comes new resolutions.

1. Be more positive: I realized the other day that I really do not wake up every day with the most positive aspect of life. In hard situations, I tend to look upon the negative qualities of it. This year and on to the next, I am going to strive to be an optimist instead of a pessimist.

2. Be more thankful: I forget sometimes how blessed I am to live and be who I am. I complain about school while some kids are not able to go to school. While I do not always like the meals provided on the table, some people go without. No matter what situation you are in, there is ,sadly, someone who is worse off in this world. This year, I am going to think of others before my self and not take what I have for granted.

3. Weekly Yoga:  Over this Christmas break, I discovered this app on my iPhone called FitStar Yoga . I never knew yoga could make you break a sweat! It's literally like having your own personal instructor in your bedroom or wherever you prefer to workout. I have been having one session a day over the break but once school starts back up, I will most likely only be doing it once a week.Throughout the session, they will ask you if a pose is too hard or too easy and will customize the session based on your physical ability. There is an option of basic or premium sessions. Of course, premium costs a couple dollars a month but if you use my direct link you can get a free month of premium! I am so excited to be getting more fit this year (and hopefully getting that six-pack haha).

4. No meat: I know what you must be thinking ," NO MEAT! How will you survive without steak or prime rib?!" This has been on my mind for a very long time, so I am not just jumping into decisions. Growing up, meat has never really been a favorite of mine on the food pyramid. I have been slowly transforming my diet into working without meat. The research over becoming a vegetarian has  been very informative. Meat is a major source of protein so ,of course, I need to be able to find some substitutes for it. Beans, potatoes (yum), nuts, and other vegetables are great replacements! If you know of any other substitutes, please let me know!

5. Focus on My Blog: I just started my blog in September, so I am still kind of getting the ropes to this. I do definitely feel that I have improved since the beginning. This year I really want to focus on blogging consistently and improving my quality. I do not own a DSLR camera, but hopefully, maybe that will come in the future. I have been taking and editing all my photos with my iPhone. I know with this camera that I won't be able to take the greatest photos, but I will definitely work my hardest to do so. I get some questions on my Instagram asking what editing apps I use. Some of my favorite editing apps are Afterlight and VSCO. I am in school and do participate in sports so blogging sometimes is put in the back burner. I have printed out this blogging schedule and framed it, so I can write and erase on it weekly. Anika was kind enough to create one so definitely check out her blog!

I will most likely be posting on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please help me keep myself accounted for! I also have been trying out different layouts for this blog, so this year I hope to really perfect it.

That is all of my New Year's Resolutions of 2015! I would love to here yours in the comments below!
