10 Questions with Meg

January 3, 2015

Today, I interviewed Meg from A Sunny State of Mind. Meg is a preppy, fashion blogger won't a love for all things monogrammed and macaroons. The quote by Lilly Pulitezer " Not always sunny but always a sunny state of mind " started it all. She may be young but her style sure makes a statement.
On Meg's blog you can find outfits of the days, DIYs, collaborations, recipes for healthy snacks, and more. I first discovered her through her Instagram. It's so nice to see another young blogger. I have loved getting to know her a little more through this interview.

1. Hello, Meg, could you tell us a little about yourself? Hi! I'm Meg, the girl behind A Sunny State of Mind. Believe it or not, I have a life outside writing my blog. I like to run on my school's track and cross country teams. I love to shop, of course, and one of my best friends I love to do that with is my grandma. I have an adventure on the daily, whether it is getting kind of lost on a run (which happens quite a lot), trying a new recipe, or doing a craft.

2. Your wardrobe is beyond adorable. Who or what is your fashion inspiration? Thank you so much! I get a lot of fashion inspiration from my mom, who is totally one of those cool moms and I love to borrow her clothes. A lot of my fashion inspiration comes from my fellow bloggers as well as when I just see people wearing something a certain way at school or at the store, but also from me just opening my closet and playing around.

3. If you could only shop at one store for the rest of your life, where would your shop? Challenging question, I know. That's a really hard question! I would say J.crew Factory. I like it a lot better that J.crew, and I am always wearing clothes from there. In fact, when I was there a few days ago I was dressed in J.crew Factory from head-to-toe and someone thought I worked there and asked me to find something for them.

4. Personally, blogging has given me so much physically and mentally. What has owning a blog given you? Owning my blog has allowed me to meet so many amazing people. But more than anything it has given me something to drive for. It has been a great introduction into the world of fashion, design, business, writing, and being held accountable for things.

5.Even though you are young, your blog has shown great success. Why did you decide to create a blog? You're right, I'm definitely a baby in this world of blogging, I started my blog when I was in 7th grade and it was far from where it is now. I had no idea what I was doing or what having a blog entailed. I just knew I wanted one- and I'm glad I did. It started as a way for me to share my craft ideas and has turned into so much more.

6. What are some of your favorite fashion trends at the moment? You know, I'm not usually one to go for many trends. I'm definitely the classic type, but I can't resist certain trends. I love quilted vests and blanket scarves.

7. What is one clothing item you could not live without? Why? At my school, we wear a uniform so I actually couldn't live without that! But, for when I wear whatever I want I always go for my Tiffany blue Hunters and J.crew puffer vest. I mean, come on they're amazing.

8. What is your next fashion must have?  For spring break, I'm already looking at pom-pom shorts. I just think they would be such fun to wear!

9. What is the biggest tip you have for anyone wanting to start a fashion blog? My biggest tip is whatever you do, don't be basic. Stay true to yourself- because it's easy to get lost. Throw in your own funny comments, smile when you want to, and don't change your style to please others. Have fun with it, because the only time you're doing something wrong is when you aren't enjoying it.

10. Lastly, it is a new year, and I, personally, love setting goals. Do you have any blogging goals for the year 2015? Well, I'm working with one of my friends on re-vamping my blog by adding the about page I just wrote. I don't want to give anything away, but one of my favorite fashionistas has agreed to let me interview her! I'm also open to new collabs, so if anyone would like to collaborate with me they can shoot me an email at meggray00@gmail.com
Have a Fabulous New Years! XOXO
