Wait, God Told Me, Just Wait

September 11, 2016

I can't describe the joy I am feeling right now.

My heart has been tugged all which ways this past year. It never fails to direct me to the mission field. My soul has longed for the field for so long. As I've asked for God to open up doors, He has told me to wait. "Be patient, child. My timing is perfect". Wait. Wait. Just wait.

In this time, I felt like I needed to do more. I felt like waiting was a waste. Why wait when I could be on the field now -- serving the one true King. Oh boy, I'll tell you something. God humbled my heart in a heart-beat.

Psalm 37:7 // "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him."

Like the seasons of this earth, there will be seasons of your life. There will be times when God says no, yes, or not yet. While the answer of "not at this moment" weighs anxieties, it is the perfect season for growth. God is setting you a part to grow. He's not putting you on the sidelines just because He wants to. He is putting you aside, so He can guide you to growth.

During my wait, I learned that I can't do this alone. While my heart broke over and over again in the midst of this past year, my God revealed his love over and over again. He taught me through my dad's death that His plan is all sufficient. His plan is so beyond perfect. He taught me to revel in his grace instead of my own pity.

I grew. I sprouted. Daily, I fall more and more in love with Christ because of the grace upon grace I receive.

Doors have been open. Guatemala, I'm coming for you. I'll be joining Adventures in Missions in 2017 to not only spread Jesus but also to spread joy and delight.. Adventure in Missions mobilizes people of all generations to follow the call of Jesus through short-term mission trips around the world and even at home.

The purpose is not only to reach others with the truth of Jesus, but to break participants out of their comfortable spaces, and into the uncomfortable realities of God at work. Each trip puts a tremendous emphasis on prayer and discipleship of both the participants and those who come to Christ. God is opening doors and is telling me, "Mikayla, it's time, girl. Let's go".

This is where I need YOU. I'll be raising over $2,805 these next couple of months. I need your committed prayers. Please continually pray that God will continue to break down barriers. Pray that God will work in ways unimaginable.

If you feel led to give, pray for your heart to give where it desires. Donations of $10, $15, $50, $100, any amount your heart feels tugged to are highly appreciated.

You can give online  (recipient: Mikayla Christiansen) or send a check.

. Our ministry could include running a VBS, visiting the villages in the surrounding area and spreading the love of Jesus, and/or serving at an orphanage. As a team, our goal is to meet any need that our ministry contact has that we are able to and to build relationships with those we minister to. I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has given me and have every confidence that He will provide for my needs! Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you.

I am beyond excited. I've repeated that word so many times over these past few days. Please, I ask you, please pray for God to just work -- work vigorously and gracefully.
